To further broaden students’ international perspectives, enhance their English proficiency and cross-cultural communication skills, and deepen the cooperation between our school and Lincoln University College (LUC) in Malaysia, six students from Jiangxi Fenglin College of Foreign Economy and Trade departed for Lincoln University College on April 26 to participate in an exchange learning program. The program includes English language courses, business courses, an immersive experience of university life abroad, and an exploration of Malaysian culture and society. It aims to help students broaden their horizons, build their capabilities, and improve their overall competencies in an international learning environment.

Our school has maintained close and long-term cooperative relations with Lincoln University College, engaging in practical collaboration in areas such as talent development, student exchange, and curriculum construction, while jointly operating a Sino-foreign cooperative nursing program. This year, our school has already selected students for the second time to participate in the exchange student program at Lincoln University College, reflecting the continuous improvement of our cooperation mechanisms and providing students with more diverse overseas learning and growth platforms.

The school has placed great emphasis on the organization and implementation of this exchange program. Prior to departure, the International Exchange and Cooperation Office organized pre-departure safety training, covering topics such as overseas learning discipline, traffic safety, personal and property safety, local laws and regulations, customs, and emergency contact methods, to help students enhance their safety awareness and self-protection skills. At the same time, the school set clear expectations for students’ conduct abroad, urging them to cherish this learning opportunity, strictly abide by university and local regulations, and actively demonstrate the civilized, confident, and progressive image of Jiangxi Fenglin students.

Upon arrival in Malaysia, the students received a warm welcome from Lincoln University College and had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, President of LUC. During the meeting, President Amiya extended a warm welcome to the students, introduced LUC’s educational philosophy, campus culture, and learning resources, and encouraged the students to proactively adapt to the overseas learning environment, actively participate in classroom learning and cultural exchanges, enhance their language skills through study, and broaden their international horizons through experience.

During their stay in Malaysia, students will participate in English language courses and business courses. The English courses focus on training in listening, speaking, reading, and writing to further enhance students’ comprehensive English application skills. The business courses cover international business fundamentals and cross-cultural business communication, guiding students to understand business environments and communication styles across different cultural contexts. By combining coursework with campus life experiences, students will not only gain exposure to foreign university classroom atmospheres and teaching models but also strengthen their independent learning abilities, cross-cultural understanding, and international communication awareness.

In addition, the exchange program will include opportunities for students to learn about Malaysian culture and social life. Through campus interactions, cultural experiences, and social observations, students will experience firsthand the multicultural diversity of Malaysian society, gaining insights into local customs, the educational environment, and urban life, thereby broadening their perspectives and knowledge in authentic overseas study and living scenarios.

This exchange program at Lincoln University College represents an important step in our school’s ongoing efforts to advance international education and serves as a concrete reflection of the deepening partnership between the two institutions. Looking ahead, the school will continue to leverage resources from overseas partner institutions, actively expand channels for student international exchanges, sustain the high-quality development of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, and provide students with more opportunities to go global, understand the world, and integrate into the global community. Our goal is to help cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents with international perspectives, cross-cultural communication abilities, and practical competencies.
